27 Dec - Step aside, Baby Yoda! There is a new "baby" in town that has caused much frenzy among the modern humankind.

As reported on Cosmic Book News, a new Japanese poster of the upcoming "Sonic the Hedgehog" movie has recently revealed a new character - a teeny tiny version of the titular '90s cartoon character which is now dubbed "Baby Sonic".

Although no details have been revealed about its appearance, it is likely that it will indeed have its debut in the said movie.

Baby Sonic is the new Baby Yoda

It has since been trending on social media, on Twitter in particular, with netizens expressing their adoration for the character and comparing it to the aforementioned "The Mandalorian" icon.

"Baby Yoda has got some competition with Baby Sonic," said one Twitterian.

"Baby Yoda somewhere in a galaxy far away, feeling the disturbance in the force, and realising that it's Baby Sonic, his competition," another posted.

While somewhere in the galaxy, Baby Groot is quaking!

"Sonic the Hedgehog" is scheduled for release in February 2020. The animated feature stars Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic, Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, and James Marsden as Tom Wachowski.
