"Fast & Furious 9: The Fast Saga" and "A Quiet Place Part II" have both been postponed.

13 Mar – Following yesterday's announcement that the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak is now classified as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO)), a couple more big movies have decided to postpone their releases in cinemas.

First there's Vin Diesel's "Fast and Furious 9", which also goes by "Fast and Furious 9: The Saga" or "Fast 9" in some territories, which have been delayed almost a whole year. Instead of opening this May, it will only hit cinemas in April 2021 instead.

Currently, only North America has received a confirmed new date, 2 April 2021.

"We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga," said Vin Diesel, as quoted on Variety. ""That's why it's especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It's become clear that it won't be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May."

"While we know there is disappointment in having to wait a little while longer, this move is made with the safety of everyone as our foremost consideration."

Meanwhile, John Krasinski, who wrote and directed "A Quiet Place Part II", announced on his social media that the highly anticipated sequel will have to be delayed for now.

"One of the things I'm most proud of is that our movie is one you have to see all together. Well due to the ever-changing circumstances of what's going on in the world around us, now is clearly not the right time to do that.

"As insanely excited as we are for all of you to see this movie...I'm gonna wait to release the film till we CAN all see it together! So here's to our group movie date!" he posted.

So far, no new release date has been announced for the "A Quiet Place" sequel.

Other movies that have also been postponed due to coronavirus include the 25th Bond movie "No Time to Die", Dave Bautista's "My Spy", and animated sequel "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway".
